I’m Emily, the founder of Female Rage Hot Sauce. Female Rage is a small-batch, DC-based sauce blended with homegrown peppers and locally sourced produce. I believe in channeling the fiery energy of women’s anger into a positive and delicious force for change. That’s why a portion of every sale goes towards supporting the DC Abortion Fund to make abortions safe and accessible for people nationwide. To date, Female Rage sold over 250 bottles and raised more than $2,000 for DCAF.
The DC Abortion Fund supports abortion seekers across the country who face structural and economic barriers to abortion care. In a post-Roe world, the number of women who are forced to cross state lines is sky high. Even in states where abortion is legal, poor women and women of color face huge obstacles in accessing critical care and rely on abortion funds to offer them financial and logistical support.
I started Female Rage as a hobby in 2020 after the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and started selling bottles out of my home kitchen in Bloomingdale in 2023. The brand has allowed me to explore my passion for spicy food, highlight local farmers and flavors, and give back to the city that I love.
